Could it have been the best meeting ever?
Turnout was great and I’d like to again welcome to our newest members. Qdoba delivered some fantastic food, everyone had a good time and of course the presentations were top notch as usual.
Back by popular demand was an encore presentation by Oke that covered many tips and tricks when working with configurations. Oke really knows his stuff and I learned a few new buttons that I had never even noticed before.
Additional presentations on how to speed up an assembly were very informative and we also took a look at the creation of a steel axe from the Skyrim video game. The reemergence of dust corners for use on stairwells, the recreation of a font by Albrect Duer from the year 1535, the use of the Golden Ratio in design, pondered the mystery of what everyone did before the letter J was added to the English language in the 1630’s, and learned that depending on how you revolve a sphere in SolidWorks you'll get a different surface area. Hopefully the techguys will figure out that mystery for the next service pack!
Thank you again to Rapid Sheet Metal for their support of our usergroup. I've spoken to a few people that have ordered parts from Rapid Sheet Metal and the response is always the same: "Outstanding work, with quick delivery".
